United Women In Faith at St. Luke

St. Luke has an active United Methodist Women’s group, with three circles. Circle 2, chaired by Kay Stout, is a visitation/card ministry circle that meets the second Monday of the month at noon at Elizabeth’s Pizza. Members are assigned shut-ins to contact and cards are also sent each month. Circle 6 is a craft circle; members meet the second Monday of the month at 1 pm in the Moffitt/Hoyle/Jones class to make items such as walker bags, baby caps, and other items for distribution to those in need. They have also helped assemble School Kits, Health Kits, and Flood Buckets for the district and the conference, and they have participated in “The Pad Project.” Circle 8 is an action circle that meets at 12:30 on the second Monday of the month in the Ladies’ Parlor. They are coordinating the church’s C4C (Congregations for Children) project; they also have speakers from different local charities which they support. They make Valentines for our shut-ins each year, and are always looking for ways to be the “hands and feet of Jesus.” United Methodist Women also coordinate the Bereavement Ministry and support the Prayer Shawl group; each year they designate a portion of their budget to be given to local charities.
