Holy Week & Easter 2025

Join us for Holy Week at Saint Luke UMC.

We've been traveling through the 40-day season of Lent, and we're hosting a week of meaningful events to conclude our journey towards Resurrection Sunday.  We've love it if you and your family joined us - and invite a friend!

Easter Egg Hunt

Sunday, April 13  |  4:00 - 5:00 PM  |  Meet in the DCLC
After celebrating Palm Sunday during morning worship, kids of all ages gather in the Davenport Christian Life Center (DCLC) at 4:00 for fun Easter activities. They'll then be divided into age groups (babies through 5th grade) and head out to hunt for eggs (and photo opps for the babies!). There just might be a special appearance by the Easter bunny! (Don't forget to bring your Easter baskets!)

Maundy Thursday  |  A Holy Thursday with Holy Communion

Thursday, April 17  |  7:00 PM  |  in the Sanctuary
Begin your final steps towards Resurrection Sunday by joining us for our Holy Thursday service. Together, we'll experience Jesus' final prayers before he goes to the garden, as well as Holy Communion.

Good Friday  |  A Service of Tenebrae

Friday, April 18  |  7:00 PM  |  in the Sanctuary
Our Service of Tenebrae (meaning "darkness" or "shadows" in Latin) always proves to be a powerful reminder of the events leading up to the death and burial of Christ. Experience our service of light and darkness, as the dimmed lights and extinguished candles of Friday prepare us for the celebration of the Resurrected Christ on Sunday morning!

Resurrection Sunday  |  Celebrating the Goodness of God!

Sunday, April 20
Easter Sunday provides multiple opportunities to celebrate the stone being moved from the empty tomb! Come celebrate the Resurrection of Jesus - and be sure to invite your friends, neighbors, and family!

6:30 AM - Sunrise Service at the Lawrence Chapel - "Coming to Know the Goodness of God!"
Bring a chair from home or claim a seat on the concrete pews in our outdoor chapel by the pond. Together we'll  experience the joy of the dawn skies awaking to the Good News of "Jesus is not here!"  - and appreciate the amazing goodness of God!
8:30 AM  |  Traditional Easter Worship in the Casey Chapel   |  "What Have We Seen?"
9:00 AM  |  Contemporary Easter Worship in the DCLC  |  "What Have We Seen?"
10:00 AM  |  Butterfly Release at the Wicker Street Entrance
Everyone looks forward to our annual butterfly release at the beautiful flower cross on the front lawn, sponsored by our Children's and Family Ministries. Remember to bring your flowers for the cross! (Adult Sunday School classes are optional.)
11:00 AM  |  Traditional Easter Worship in the Sanctuary  |  "What Have We Seen?"
