Synago

Synago is the Greek word for together and the root word for synagogue, a place where people gather to worship and develop their faith. For senior high youth at St. Luke UMC, Synago is a youth-led Bible study that encourages youth not only to lead but to invite others to the conversation as well.

Synago is designed to be led by two youth co-leaders, along with adult supervision (adults functioning as "encouragers"). All of the youth - leaders and participants - are tasked with inviting others to come and be part of the conversation. Synago provides a unique situation to invite other youth to learn about the Bible and grow their faith in a safe environment while offering leadership opportunities and a avenue for intergenerational relationships.
