Nominations
“Then he said to his disciples, ‘The harvest is plentiful but the workers are few. Ask the Lord of the harvest, therefore, to send out workers into his harvest field.’” - Matthew 9:37-38, NIV
The season of nominations is opened up again, and we need you to respond. At St. Luke UMC, one of the ways that we invite you to serve is through the use of a Time and Talent Survey. This document allows you to prayerfully consider the areas where you would be willing to serve St. Luke in the coming year (July 2012 - June 2013). All areas of the church open to church members are listed on the survey. Several of the categories also have a spot for you to indicate an area of service or ministry that may not be listed in that category.
One of the best ways to determine where you are willing to serve is through the use of a Spiritual Gifts Inventory. If you have taken such an assessment, we encourage you to list your top three spiritual gifts on the first page of the survey. If have never taken a spiritual gifts survey, there is one available at Christianet.com. After taking it, please list your top three gifts.
Where Is the Survey?
You can pick up a Time and Talent Survey in several locations at the church:
- Outside of the worship spaces
- The church office
- From a member of the nominating committee
You can also download the survey from this website. You cannot fill out the survey online; it must be printed out and returned to the church. The reason for this is so that it can be made available to the Committee on Lay Leadership during the season of nominations.
The survey will not be placed in either the church bulletin or the newsletter.
When Is It Due?
All Time and Talent Surveys are due back to the church office no later than March 4th, 2012. If you have questions about the survey, please contact Gene Cobb either by phone or e-mail (contact information on the staff page.) We invite you to prayerfully consider your place of service and ministry at St. Luke and respond faithfully to the call of our Lord to the harvest!
