From the ACTS

During this time of a transition of leadership at St. Luke, there has been a wide range of emotions expressed.  Sadness at the relocation of Carl Frazier from our congregation.  Curiosity of the gifts Bob O’Keef will bring to our faith community.  These are just two of the many emotions expressed.

However, during the past months as these changes were made known, there has been one prevailing thought expressed to me by many in our congregation.  I have overheard any number of you say you feel we are on the verge of great things happening at St. Luke.  I share this feeling.  We have come far, but we have so much further to go.

As I have contemplated this, two biblical characters have come to mind, Moses and Joshua.  Moses was chosen by God to carry the people to the promised land but never entered it himself.  Joshua finished the journey, crossing over the Jordan leading His people into the land they were destined to be.

We thank Carl for his leadership and love and we welcome Bob with anticipation of his sharing his many gifts.  However, this transition is not just about these two fine men.  It’s about our journey.  Our mission, our journey is to make disciples of Christ.

In the coming days I hope you will join me in prayer for our leadership, staff and the entire St. Luke family as we continue, hand in hand, on that path we are called to take to the foot of the cross.

Grace and Peace,

Rex Scott, SPRC Chair        ... more NEWS
